Thank God for friends

I was just sitting here thinking about how lucky I am to have friends that always support me in everything that I do. I mean, these people are with me through the good and the bad, tell me off when I'm acting stupid, and have my back all the time. So I felt like dedicating this blog post to them today (thanks Benita "with the house lamp" for the idea)

Dominic - he's my very best friend. He's always there for me even when I'm acting like an ass. I admire his strength, wisdom, and courage. He's my better half and I love him.

Erika (my lil sis) - she's my baby sis, but in so many ways I learn alot from her. She's had to grow up really fast since we lost someone special years ago. But even though she has so many obstacles to overcome, she has become a better mother, an amazing woman, and a great friend.

Meaka - my "misa". I've known Ms. Shameaka Barnard since 6th grade when I used to visit Chesapeake and we picked up where we left off when I moved there in the 8th grade. Back then she was wearing the coke bottle glasses and we both were wearing fingerwaves. We bonded instantly and it's amazing to me to see the person that she has become. Even in my darkest hour, Meak was there to pick me up and get me back on my feet. I am eternally grateful to her for all that she has done for me. I know we will be best friends, no..more like sisters, until we are old and gray. I love her to death and would do anything for her

Lori, Nicole, Sheena, Tamara - these are my cousins who I love to death. Each one of them have their own special qualities that makes them get on my nerves on minute, but love them the next. I don't know who or where I would be without them in my life. We've come so far, from making up dance routines (we were going to be on the Apollo), to seeing each other graduate, we've always been a part of each others lives. They are my sisters.

Dena- this girl is my homie. I've know Dena since maybe the 10th grade and she has been cracking me up ever since. I mean, we can't even look at each other without busting out in laughter. She is so humorous, generous, and an all around fun person to be around. She has always been there for me and even though we didn't talk as much when we went our separate ways to college, when we did talk it was like we had just talked yesterday. And when she came to my graduation, a moment that was special to me b/c of my struggles to get to that point, it meant so much. I truly admire her.

Gabrielle (Partner)- I met Tina freshman year at VSU. I actually met her through a former friend who she was roommates with. I don't know what it was, but we just formed a bond and started to develop a friendship that was amazing. We're like ying and yang. She is the total opposite of me, but thats why we get along so well. I'm the loud obnoxious one, she's the soft and reserved one. But depending on circumstances, we flip roles. Tina is a great friend b/c she is a great listener. Whenever I have a problem, she really listens. I'm not talking about sitting there and thinking about what she's going to say next, but listens to what I have to say. And thats so important in a friend (maybe thats b/c I don't listen to well...lol). Tina is going to be a lifetime friend...one who's going to go off and have high yella babies :)

Kiya- what can I say about Ms. Barber. Kiya may just be the fastest friend that I've ever made. I would say she is more like family. I met Kiya my senior year in college (last semester) when she became my roommate. I will have to say that I wasn't too enthusiastic considering I had the room to myself until she got there. But once she did, I think maybe a week or two later, I was going home with her to MD. We just clicked...she's the type of person that I always wished I could be. She speaks her mind, she's sooo focused, and she lives life to the fullest no matter what anyone says. I love this girl, even though we have our share of ups and down (she gets on my nerves alot). And her son Andrew is my homie (even though he has an attitude problem). I value our friendship and hope that she will be standing by my side on my wedding day (and vice versa)

Kaeana- she is my friend that I met at my old job. Kaeana is a sweet person at heart. She is extremely caring and she will give you her last dollar if you need it. We get in lots of spats, mainly b/c we both think the other has a quick temper and nasty 'tude, but in the final hours this chick is a great friend that I will have forever. And I love her nieces :)

Kristen - she is my loud, off the wall, hates everyone, friend. I love her b/c she is just like me. Whenever I don't like someone, she hates them!! We can both be petty together, but thats okay b/c we don't care. She one of my good friends and she will alwasy be iin my life

Kimmie, Meron, Shana, Nina- I've know some of these girls from high school and met the others thru Dena. We all had to come together when Dena got hitched and we've been partying it up ever since. They all have their special qualities that you just have to love. And it doesn't hurt that we get "weary" together (Meron). Even though during the wedding process we had bumps in the road, they are becoming my "Sex in the City", okay more like "Girlfriends" when we all catch up with each other.

Okay...I'm tired of typing now...if I forgot someone, I'll add them at a a later date :0
