Love Sees No Color????

I recently went to see the movie "Something New" w/ Sanaa Lathan. I thought it was a very cute movie, considering that I didn't really have high hopes on being entertained. I thought the concept was something that would spark a debate, which it seems to be doing. This movie is "Nothing New" to society. Black women have been dating white men, or any other race for that matter for awhile. I just think that the black men going outside of the race pool is far greater. I don't know how I feel about this...I want to say that "It's all good" and be with who you want to be with....but something inside me tells me that such comment would not be how I really feel. I can't sit here and say that seeing one of my strong black men sneaking...excuse me, running over to the other side doesn't sometimes make me a little sad. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of black men out here that are good black men, but we have such a shortage of not just good black men, but black men period, that it makes it that much harder for us to find someone worth our time.
That being said, I can't blame it all on the men. Some of our women make it so hard for someone to love us. Half of us don't have our shit together but expect to find a man that can do for us, and the other half of us are just too damn picky and can't spot a good man b/c their work attire doesn't include a three piece suit, a Breitling watch, and a briefcase. I can't say I blame some men for going across the fence, b/c just like we feel that we have limited pickings on good black men, they feel the same way. But I can't say that I agree with them either. And I can't stand when the black men that date white women use the excuse that black women are too this and too that. Don't blame us honey...if you want to date white, thats because you chose to date white. It had nothing to do with the entire black woman population. And besides, women are women, regardless of race. Don't think that you are going to date a white women and she isn't going to give you the same complaints that we will give you.
Although it's not for me to judge and you just can't help who you fall in love with, I personally find nothing more attractive than a black man. Everybody has their preference and that is mine. I've had conversations with my boyfriend all the time, and he calls me a racist at times. I don't think I am a racist. I just feel strongly about what I like. I'm not telling anybody else who to date. I don't look down on other people for dating outside of their race. I just know what I like.
